The farm La Perrole

To start, we took the train from Monthey to Aigle, to go to La Perrole with the teacher. We took the train to Aigle. When we arrived, we spoke with a man who described the agricultural farm. We were separated into two groups. First we planted Swiss chards* seedlings; we had to put minimum 20 cm between each plant. It took us a good hour to plant the Swiss chards. After that, we tasted spicy chili peppers. Then we visited the farm : the shop and the products (fruit and vegetables). We also compared old and new weat. The farmer explained to us that strawberries can be scattered easily. He also explained that plantations are usually covered with a tarp to prevent weeds** and that plants are planted in greenhouses because it lasts longer. In the end, they offered us apple juice and watermelon. This visit was fun! Finally we took the train back to Monthey where we finished the day.
